Hello! My name is Jean. In Japan, everyone called me まさしん (Masashin).

I am a human, from Earth. I have lived around the world, but I have never really travelled, though I would like to.

According to people I have asked, I tend to be fun to be around, but I am very weird, and am apparently extremely kind. I am also 頼もしい, and conversations with me can sometimes be insightful, perspective altering, or life changing.

I want to work to help humanity. The world is heading to automation, and I want to do my part to get it there as soon as possible. Almost nobody will have a traditional job anymore. Ideally, people will be free to do whatever they want. If you want to travel, you can travel. If you like painting or music or creating things, there is nothing stopping you.

At the moment, I am unable to travel much. So what better way to explore (under those conditions), than to have the world come to you.

I like learning about everything, including other foods, cultures, languages, and countries. So long as you are a good human, you are welcome to stay.

Until now, I have stayed at several hosts, and have hosted 101 people from 31 countries in Kyoto, as well as a few friends in Antwerp.

兴趣

I like seeing new things. Learning, and exploring. Quite often, I get distracted by a new subject for a few hours to a few days and I try to learn everything I can about it.
I like building robots. I like programming (especially Python). I like making things and seeing them work. I like automating everything, and I want to make everyone jobless.
I like being outside. I bike a lot, and go on hikes occasionally. I love animals, and can make many animal sounds.
I like space stuff. I stargaze and play Kerbal Space program. And I want to go to space.
I like cooking. I like trying new things and new techniques.

There used to be a forest near my house, where you could see a beautiful night sky. I have binoculars, and if you are willing to go out at night, I can show you sights you may never have seen before. From the rings of Saturn, the moons of Jupiter, and the Seven Sisters, to star clusters and nebulae, this activity is very popular with my guests on clear nights.

Also, depending on the day, I might be able to show you around. My favourite mode of transportation is the bicycle, so if you can rent one (or if you have one already) we can go far and wide. By bike, it is around 30 minutes from Kyoto station. Weekends are best in that case. However, I tend to want to keep them free for other activities.

I can try and make you some food if you want. And I can talk about many different topics. Also, if I go far for a few days, I usually have my binoculars, so I might be able to show you some sights in the night sky.
