Wow! How did the last 10 years go by? - It has been a while since my last authentic couchsurfing experience. I got married and have 3 children with my wonderful wife. Despite having moved to a small village on the Swabian Alb two years ago and having had the opportunity to work mostly in home office, I am currently visiting Mannheim for 2 days a week for my job as a test engineer in the area of medical device development.
When staying two days in a row, I used to stay at friend's homes so far. But why should I not use the opportunity to revive and extend my couchsurfing- experience? Mannheim, I am coming back! (no reference to an Ozzy Osborne song X-).
For the rest of the profile, I dare to keep the lines, although both the world and I have certainly developed in the last 10 years.

ABOUT ME

I've got an open-minded attitude towards other people, their ideals and ideas and life in general. However, I'm also keen on questions and discussions about different ways of looking at the world, since I look at them as the most efficient way to learn about others and the things important to them. And since knowledge originated from people's minds, there's at least as much to learn from talking to others as by reading books. What else to say? The world would be a dark place without music which enlightens the heart and soul, especially when made by guitars, which I very much enjoy to play. So far for this. Learn more by meeting me! : )

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Only having made positive experiences so far, when travelling to other cities for a day or two I would always try to find a couch first before considering another option. If there's the need for, I will offer any space big enough for a good place for the night.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

A friend of mine and I were hosted once in Copenhagen by lovely people. Being provided an own room for the two of us and some old bicycles to discover the town on the saddle, there has been nothing further to ask for. The first time surfing a couch and an expierience, we are glad to have had.
Another time I was on the way to Bonn in Germany for an assessment center. Having asked for a couch to surf on before, I expected to spent the night at the flat of a very kind couple which answered my request and invited me to stay. However, still being on my outward journey, I got to know a friendly guy who lived near my university town earlier. We started chatting and finally he decided to invite me to stay at his place. So I could spend three nights at his flat, of course after having clarified the sudden change of plans with the other host. Honestly, an unexpected but therefore even greater experience! ;)
