About Me
Hi! My name is Masha and I am from Russia. I was born in Saint-Petersburg, and when I was 10, I moved to live in France. Five years later I moved again to live in Mauritius. So I can say I have an international background of a sort :D I recently finished my Masters, I have an International Relations degree. Right now I'm still working as a language tutor, a job I had since the time I was a student. I am passionate about travelling especially in the more adventurous way of road-trips and going to the less-touristic places of a country. I enjoy meeting people from different cultures and backgrounds; I also absolutely love trying different types of food from all over the world.
Oh, last but not the least, I am a huge cat-lover, always wanting to pet the pretty kitties.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I used to be on CouchSurfing years ago, in 2012. I travelled in Thailand and Malaysia using this great site, it was one of the best experiences in my whole life. I deleted my old account back in 2013, and didn't travel for several years. In 2019 I planned a road trip around some European countries, and came back here. I don't really travel as often as I'd like, but when I do I enjoy meeting people from different countries and nationalities, discovering their culture and making friends. CouchSurfing is a great community which allows to just do that.

Music, Movies, and Books
My favorite book is the fantasy series A Song of Ice and Fire. I'd say my favorite genre is fantasy, however I also read many other types of books . Love the classics a lot too.
As for music, I listen to everything - I don't have a favorite genre. My playlist has a library of hundreds of songs, from pop to rock, passing by electro, classical or rap.
In 2018 I bought a bike and haven't gotten off of it since :D Cycling around a new city is an amazing way of exploring by the way.
I love baking very much - cakes, pies, cookies, bread ... Always on the lookout for new recipes.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Well, to keep with the theme of travelling: when I was 18 I travelled in South East Asia by hitchhiking for over a month using CouchSurfing. It was an amazing experience, I only have the fondest memories from that trip. And I very much hope to do it again in other parts of the world :D
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach the languages I know, and my modest baking knowledge I guess :D I am open-minded and ready to learn nearly anything.
