Originally from Canberra, Australia I moved to Finland and have been residing here for 9 years. I'm working in IT and travel as often as possible which seems to be almost every weekend :)

I've been studying and using Finnish, spent 2 years studying Swedish which I can have basic conversations and decided this year to start learning Russian and explore east from Helsinki.

I've been quite active with couch surfing over the years and I go quite often to the country weekend events around the European region. I organised a weekend in Minsk this year which was really great.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

When I moved to Finland I ran into the Helsinki Couchsurfing group and have been pretty active with the local community. We have weekly meet ups and organise large events like the Christmas parties and Finland CS camps.

I have travelled quite a few times with couch surfing for the major meet ups around the baltic region, couch surfed at a few places around Finland and have hosted a few people over the years. I really enjoy the social aspect of meeting new people and taking people around sightseeing in my area.

Interests

I really enjoy the outdoors when I can get out of the city and go fishing. Finland has amazing nature and places to head to the forest to grill.

Travelling is a great and expensive hobby, I come from Australia and like to head home once a year and then do a few trips in between. I've been to around 30 countries so far and enjoy going to new cities. I have started to travel around Finland and have met really great people all over this country.
