About Me

Hey everyone!

I am 34 years old, from Cagliari - Sardinia (ITALY). I am a vegetarian, a musician, a lover of cinema / books / animals / fun things :)

I think of myself as a very open minded person, I enjoy the good company of people who enjoy life and respect each other. Music is my main interest.
I am a full time musician, a trained sound engineer and I own a project studio where I engineered / recorded / mixed & mastered several albums.

I've enjoyed traveling around the world over the years, visited the USA quite often because of family and friends in California, Illinois, New York and Virginia. I spent most of 2010 living in Prague, Czech Republic, a really brief stint as assistant engineer on some of the sessions there (including work with KILLING JOKE's Jaz Coleman), and then I came back to Sardinia.
After almost 4 years working a job that really didn't work for me, in 2015 I've started to pursue a career in music full time, under the monicker CONFRONTATIONAL. The music business is a harsh reality but I enjoy the challenge and am very happy with the outcome so far.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because I really dig the concept, and because I would love to make new friends all over the world as I will travel extensively around the world in 2017 to tour in support of my latest LP.

Interests

music: guitar, bass, synth, drums, singing ...anything that makes a sound instantly has me interested! I am a movie buff, and I love books.

Music, Movies, and Books

all of this is in no particular order:

BOOKS - my collection consists of stuff mainly from Stephen King and Paul Auster (I've read practically every single thing these two dudes have put out), but I am also into J.G. Ballard, W.S. Burroughs, H.P. Lovecraft and varied other things like random sci-fi, technical audio manuals or biographies / autobiographies from people that intrigue me or inspire me. Just got done with Steven Pressfield's THE WAR OF ART, and Julia Cameron's brilliant THE ARTIST'S WAY.

MUSIC - Michael Jackson, John Carpenter, LUDRIUM, The Cars, Sadus, Death, Prong, Sonic Youth, Teeth, Placebo, Filter, Johnny Marr, Hante, Fabio Frizzi, The Sisters Of Mercy, Red Lorry Yellow Lorry, Killing Joke, Foo Fighters, Nirvana, Shellac, Small White, Meg Myers, MIXHELL, Cavalera Conspiracy, Sepultura, Megadeth, King Crimson, Sick Tamburo, Prozac+, Queens Of The Stone Age, Kyuss, Probot, Fatso Jetson, Alice Cooper, Kreator, Testament, Angelo Badalamenti, Hans Zimmer, Mark Snow, Mark Mancina, Elliot Goldenthal, damn this is getting out of control (MYSPACE style)! Honorable mention to PAUL VINCENT RAVEN for teaching me how beautiful bass can sound, JOHNNY MARR for making me fall in love with guitar again, STEVE DI GIORGIO for being such an avid listener to most kinds of music, MAX CAVALERA for being so creatively angry, DAVE GROHL for being a killer inspiration and DARREN TRAVIS for showing me THE WAY along with CHUCK SCHULDINER and JOHN GRABSKI III.

MOVIES - Anything by George A. Romero, John Carpenter, William Friedkin, Michael Mann, David Lynch, David Cronenberg (including but not limited to DAWN OF THE DEAD, MULHOLLAND DR., SORCERER, CRUISING, TO LIVE AND DIE IN LA, BLUE VELVET, THE DEAD ZONE, THE THING, PRINCE OF DARKNESS, ESCAPE FROM NY, IN THE MOUTH OF MADNESS, THE FLY, LOST HIGHWAYS, MONKEY SHINES, THE THING, THE CRAZIES, THEY LIVE, HALLOWEEN) and of course other stuff such as THE GOONIES, GHOSTBUSTERS, BACK TO THE FUTURE, NEAR DARK, THE X FILES, ELYSIUM, FRANTIC, GHOST WRITER, THE NINTH GATE, POSSESSION, VAMPIRE'S KISS, INDIANA JONES, GROUNDHOG DAY, ALIEN, INCEPTION, EVENT HORIZON, THE HOUSE WITH LAUGHING WINDOWS, ZEDER... yeah you get it :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My debut album, A DANCE OF SHADOWS. It made it to NewRetroWave's TOP 10 ALBUMS of 2015 - you can stream it on youtube here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UU76Z4YkaO8

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach Italian, I can teach guitar and bass (with a pick!) and some notions of video editing and of course sound engineering - that was shortly my job, too, for a while!

If you play music and want to record stuff in my project studio while here in Sardinia... I am totally down for that!

What I Can Share with Hosts

All of my music, my movie tips, all of my trippy jokes and some really sketchy basic cooking skills... ha!
