Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

In the fall of 2015, I took a two month trip to Europe, visiting eleven countries in the process. My first Couchsurfing experience was in Manchester, and it continued in Brussels, Zurich, Prague, Ravenna & Munich. I can't say enough great things about the Couchsurfing concept. I was able to meet some really fantastic people and learn so much more about the cities that I visited than I would have otherwise. I look forward to eventually hosting guests at my apartment in NYC so that I can return the generosity :)

Interests

My favorite thing in the world is live music, and I aim to experience as much of it as humanly possible. I tend to abide by the mantra "everything in moderation," with live music being the one notable exception. At this point in my life, I've seen well over 1,000 bands/artists in concert, and almost always try to catch shows while I'm traveling.

I'm also extremely passionate about craft beer. I keep a "beer cellar," as many do with wine, and currently have over 300 bottles of beer from all over the world aging. My favorite style of beer is Belgian lambic, which is extremely unique and complex (and often an acquired taste).

Music, Movies, and Books

Favorite Director: Billy Wilder
Favorite Song: "Everyday" by Buddy Holly
Favorite Author: Kurt Vonnegut

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've gone hang gliding in Byron Bay, Australia. Easily the coolest experience that I've had in my life.

Teach, Learn, Share

As mentioned in my interests, I have an extreme knowledge of craft beer/breweries, and am always down to find local places to drink good beer, and share recommendations with those who might not know very much about different styles of beer.

I also have an extremely large music library on my computer, and love sharing new music with people! My tastes range far and wide, and not many things make me happier than introducing new music to someone that they end up loving!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my positive attitude, good nature and engaging conversation. I can share my sense of adventure, and plenty of great stories that I've collected while working in the music/event industry.

Unfortunately I don't have much skill when it comes to cooking, but it's not like "traditional American cuisine" is that interesting anyway ;)
