About Me
Hey fellow humans,
I'm Matei, a 24 years young Romanian, currently studying Satellite Technology in Würzburg, Germany. I am a true backpacker by heart ... I could at any moment throw some stuff in my backpack and stroll the world to discover awesome places and meet amazing people. As most people my age, I'm enjoying the student life and wouldn't say no to a party or an occasion to create a wonderful memory. I'm open minded and enjoy having conversations on every subject - even if I'm a master or a newbie at it. Together with my girlfriend Ioana, we have some unforgettable CS experiences from when we did an Interrail EuroTrip in the summer of 2019 - staying with people in the UK, Sweden, Norway, Finland and Germany. After that, many more amazing experiences followed and nowadays I'm trying to return the favor to this amazing community and offer to host people visiting Würzburg and the surroundings. You can count on my recommendations and insights, even though my time is very limited and most probably I won't be able to join you ;)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To meet new people and new cultures. I think there is a difference btw being a tourist and being a traveler. I consider myself being the latter, as I'm interested in the local culture of the places I visit...from the way locals spend their free time to the way they see the world. I think that the experience offered by a hotel cannot be compared to staying with locals. I've had great CS experiences in Copenhagen, Hamburg and London and I decided that I want to stroll the world and meet other amazing people that want to share their life experiences and are maybe curious about mine too :))

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I flew a glider alone for almost 3 hours.
I jumped out of the plane for 7 times alone (even tho the plane was still functioning, LOL)
I hiked 70 km in nearly 3 days in Calimani national park.
I spent more nights in tent, under the northern lights.
I visited Santa Claus at his office in Rovaniemi (and I can assure you that he's always on duty :)) )
I've seen Guns & Roses in a live concert in the Netherlands.
Teach, Learn, Share
A mile of road can take you just a mile while a mile of runway can take you everywhere. That's why I love flying so much. I can share with you a beer, a glass of wine or whatever I have in the fridge...and don't be afraid to ask if you need something. I can offer you a washing machine to wash your clothes and a guide and some tips about the city of Würzburg.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Cultures and experiences. My perception about life and (philosophical) talks about everything I know or don't know. I can cook, offer you a beer or a glass of wine (or whatever I have left in the fridge)....and don't be afraid to ask if you need something. I can offer you a washing machine to wash your clothes and a guide and some first impressions about the city of Würzburg
