Mi nombre es Mateo Arce, soy Argentino y tengo 29 años. Soy músico y cineasta. Crecí en la Patagonia Argentina, pero me formé académicamente en la ciudad de La Plata, donde estudié cine.
En este momento estoy de viaje por Europa, así que no estoy recibiendo gente en mi casa.

I'm currently traveling in Europe, so I'm not hosting until I get back.

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

Llegué a CS buscando una herramienta para viajar barato, y terminé descubriendo que lo más importante no tiene que ver el dinero. Me encontré con que ser hospedado por locales es una experiencia completamente diferente, una mucho mejor. Pero no solamente porque conocés mejor los lugares, sino por el factor humano. Si conectás con las personas que conocés, es una experiencia completamente diferente. Y eso no pasa en un hostel. En unos meses usando CS ya tengo recuerdos muy lindos con gente que seguramente voy a volver a ver, y eso me da mucha alegría.

I arrived to CS looking for a tool to travel on a budget, but I ended discovering that the best thing of it isn't related to money. I found that being hosted by locals it's a completely different experience, a much better one. Not only because you get to know the city better, but also due to the human factor. If you connect with the people you meet, it's a completely different experience. That doesn't happen in a hostel. In a few months using CS I already have beautiful memories with people I think I'll meet again, and that gives me a lot of joy.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

Mi artista musical favorito es Charly García. También soy fanático de Radiohead. Sin embargo, mis gustos musicales son amplios y variados.
En cuanto al cine, establezco un podio de 3 películas, porque sino la lista sería interminable.
Sería: Apocalypse now, de Coppola, Phantom Thread, de Paul Thomas Anderson, y Código Desconocido, de Micheal Haneke.
Igualmente puedo hablar y debatir sobre cine durante horas. Y, sí, me encanta el cine en blanco y negro...
Ah, soy un fanático de Los Sopranos.
Mi escritor favorito es Alessandro Baricco. La novela que más me gusta de él es City.
Kurt Vonnegut también me encanta.
Soy un gran fanático del Señor de los Anillos (las películas también, por supuesto).

My favorite musical artist is Charly García . I'm also a huge fan of Radiohead. However, my musical taste is extensive and diverse..
In terms of cinema, some of my favorite directors are: Agnes Varda, Micheal Haneke, Lucrecia Martel, Paul Thomas Anderson, David Cronenberg.
I can talk about cinema for hours, no matter what genre o type of films we are discussing.
I'm a HUGE fan of The Sopranos.
My favorite writer is Alessandro Baricco. The novel I enjoy the most is "City".
I also love Kurt Vonnegut.
I'm a huge fan of The Lord of the Rings (also the movies, of course).

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

-Compuse y grabé la música original para el largometraje documental "La Educación en Movimiento" (2018), una película acerca de experiencias de educación popular en Latinoamérica. Está disponible en Youtube!
-Compuse y grabé mi primer disco solista, llamado Muchas Puertas (2020). Podés buscarlo en Spotify o cualquier plataforma digital!
-Escribí y dirigí mi primer largometraje documental "Esto que es parte de nuestra vida" (2023). Es acerca de una organización política indígena de la provincia de Río Negro, en la Patagonia Argentina.

-I wrote and recorded de original score of the documentary "La Educación en Movimiento" (2018), a movie about popular education in Latin America. Available on Youtube!
-I wrote and recorded my first solo album, called Muchas Puertas (2020). Available in Spotify, Youtube, and other music platforms, if you like to listen!
-I wrote and directed mi first movie, the documentary "Esto que es parte de nuestra vida" (2023). It's about a indigenous political organization in Rio Negro, Patagonia Argentina.

Enseignez, apprenez, partagez

Me gusta mucho compartir mis conocimientos sobre fotografía y cine, en cualquier nivel de complejidad.
Pero si alguien está interesado en saber lo básico de fotografía, aunque no sepa nada, siempre estoy encantado de enseñarlo.
Puedo enseñar español, sobre todo si la otra persona habla algo de inglés, pues con otros idiomas se me complica más.
Estoy aprendiendo italiano, así que me interesa poder conversar con alguien que me tenga paciencia!

I love to share my knowledge about photography and cinema, at any difficulty level.
I can teach Spanish, specially if the other person knows a bit of english, otherwise i'm kind of lost.
I'm learning Italian, so i'm interested in chatting with someone with patience!

Ce que j'aimerais partager avec mes hôtes

Puedo compartir historias de viaje, conocimientos de cine, música y literatura. Pero sobre todo charlas de cualquier tipo, me interesa intercambiar opiniones, posturas y conocimiento con otras personas.
Me gusta hablar de política... Si el interés es mutuo, me encantaría intercambiar opiniones y posturas.
Me gusta mucho cocinar, y compartir la comida que cocino con otras personas.
Si hay una guitarra puedo cantar con gusto también.
Soy un amante de los animales, y adoro pasar tiempo con perros, gatos, y otros animales también.

I can share tales from another trips, knowledge about cinema, music and literature. But I like to talk about any subject, and exchange opinions and knowledge with other people.
I like to talk about politics... If there is a mutual interest, I'll be glad to exchange opinions and points of view.
I love to cook and to share the food I make with other people.
If there's a guitar, I can gladly play some songs.
I'm an animal lover, I enjoy to share time with cats and dogs.
