HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have enjoyed to meet some local hosts in places I have visited. Happy to meet up for chat, share some local knowledge of the area or region or give whatever advice you may need for your travels.

If possible maybe we are able to do some activities together when you are here.

People who actually want to engage with the above are my preferred guests, not those you decided at 5pm because they are too lazy, disorganised and usually under 25yo that they want a free overnight stay, meal, hot shower and possible laundry service as they pass through on the way to somewhere.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

DO NOT, repeat DO NOT request to stay at 5pm on the evening you wish to stay. You will be ignored!! You must include the words "west oz is best" in your message when you are requesting to stay with me. Should you not do this, it suggests to me you are lazy, selfish and only seeking a free bed for yourself. Such people are not welcome at my home.

You must also include in your message what form of transport you are using, eg; car, bus, train. Failure to do so is as above.

ALSO, if....if, you make contact and say you will arrive at such and such a time... and then don't, it would be nice to call and say your plans have changed... courtesy is all I ask there as I may very well be waiting around for your arrival. I am not some scummy backpackers hostel.

Hiking down the Copper Canyon in Mexico a few years ago,staying a few days then hiking out again still makes me smile.
