About Me

My name is Matheus Jung (24) and I was born and lived in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. I am graduated in Control and Automation Engineering in UFMG, a public university in my home town. After two years working as engineer in a big company, I decided to quit my job and go traveling the world. I am fascinated about learning new people and different places and cultures. I lived one year in Germany during my studies and visited Europe, Asia and North America. Now it's time to meet the old friends and make a lot of new ones.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I believe Couchsurfing is an amazing way to know the culture of the place you're visiting. Nobody knows it's city better than the locals. Most of the times, when a lot of tourists are together, they visit just the principal touristic places, without living the real life of the city. I wanna know deeply different counties culture (as well as showing mine) and make new friends worldwide.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love Indie, although I listen to all different kinds of music. It really depends on the mood of the environment or my feelings.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My one-month-trip to Southeast Asia was one of the most incredible things I've ever done. This motivated me to leave my job and going to do a long-term-travel. Now I'm developing my website to tell everything about this experience: www.leaveandlive.com

Teach, Learn, Share

I really love teaching. I did a volunteer work teaching math to small children in a public school in my country. As I turn 25, I'll apply to a volunteer work in a big organization (like UNO).

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'd love teaching the languages I know (Portuguese, Spanish, German, English and a little bit of French), preparing some meals from Brazil (believe: it's the best food ever).

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Brazil, Cambodia, China, England, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Malaysia, Monaco, Myanmar, Netherlands, Philippines, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey, Ukraine, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In

Brazil, Germany
