Hey, what's up? We're the Mateus(es). Yeah, we both have the same name.

We're super excited to be living this experience. We believe that life is all about learning, and the best way to learn is through direct experience and exchange.

We're setting off on this journey, taking everything we've learned with us. Even though it might seem like an external quest, we believe that any growth that happens outside contributes to our internal understanding as well. So we're constantly on an inner quest.

We're outgoing, cheerful, and love to chat. We always try to exchange good laughs whenever possible because we like to keep things light, despite the difficulties.

We're Yoga instructors. We see this practice as a way of life that guides us to look inward and work on our mind and body. We'd love to share Yoga with anyone who's interested.

Cooking is another passion of ours. Due to food intolerances, we've become more interested in vegetarian/vegan cuisine, but we do eat fish and seafood. We'd love to cook together and learn more about other cultures' cuisines.

We're amateur photographers and are getting into the world of mobile photography. We like to look at things from a different perspective, showcasing the beauty and unexpectedness of everything.

We have experience hosting people in our home. For 5 years, we've been receiving guests from different nationalities and cultures, and have gained experience in organization, cleanliness, hosting, and exchanges that happen during those opportunities.

We love animals and have a little dog named Julieta who's still back in Brazil.

We're traveling the world and hope to learn a lot from you all. Let's contribute to making these exchanges always about growth.

We are on Couchsurfing primarily to meet different people and cultures, whether from another country, state or even city.
We love to learn, develop and make connections with others... To expand!

Secondly: We believe in the sharing economy. Sharing to grow. Nothing in this world is mine or yours. Things and places may be under specific ownership, but we believe that by sharing we do not diminish what we have, on the contrary, we expand it!

Thirdly: Traveling is a passion. And like many here, we love to get to know places from the point of view of the local... where they live, what they eat, what they do for fun.

兴趣

As true Bahians, we love the beach and everything related to it: the ocean, Yemanjá, frescobal, sand, daytime activities. We are daytime people, so we prioritize activities during this period.

We are yoga practitioners, and both of us are Yoga instructers. As eternal seekers of ourselves, we are learning that real happiness (whatever that may mean) is within us, which is why we are increasingly less focused on material wealth and experiencing things that contribute to the well-being of as many people as possible.
We believe that nutrition is one of the most important pillars in the construction of a fulfilled being. That's why we take care of our diet - we are ovo-lacto-pescetarians and love vegetarian/vegan cuisine!

If allowed, we could samba all day long! Or dance to Axé until the soles of our shoes fall off!

We love brazilian music and regional bahia’s music. Singers as Caetano Veloso, Gilberto Gil, Marisa Monte, Jorge Benjor and many others.
And also musics for the moment. Always listening to music as we cook ir clean the house. Life as to have a “Trilha sonora”

We love light movies. Not into horror ou killing movies.

Frequented a Circus school for almost 10 years as a kid. It was life changing.

We are developing skills in vegetarian cooking and everything related to its flavors and textures. We love the colors, the combinations, and the different nutrients! We can teach a little.

We have a background in Yoga, and an open heart to transform through this fantastic tool... Philosophy and practices hand in hand for humanity! We can also teach.

One of us has English training and has it as a second language, so we can also teach a little.

We like arts, smartphone photography, outdoor activities, and working with the earth.
