About Me
Shortest summary possible:
I am an avid cook, classical musician, woodworker, animal lover, and work on a nerdy educational video game as a day job. I love my hometown of Boston, but decided to semi-spontaneously move to Istanbul in June and haven't looked back.
A bit longer:
I love creating things, whether it's a meal, a wooden table, or a musical performance. I'm a classically trained trombonist (I've played in orchestras, jazz bands, salsa bands, musical theater, etc), and am also incredibly interested in film scoring and music production.
I spend a stupid amount of time in the kitchen. I genuinely love cooking, and sharing my love of food with other people as a way to connect. Over the past many years, I have delved deeply into many different worlds of food, from Turkish, to Korean, to Japanese, cheesemaking, beer brewing, coffee, and so on.
My day-job is working in game development, on a semi-educational astronomy simulation. I studied physics in university (in addition to music), and even though I didn't formally continue down the path of science, I love studying science and tend to always surround myself with scientifically-inclined people.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To share tasty food, drink, and conversation with great people I wouldn't otherwise have the chance to meet.
As cliche as it sounds, I just love connecting with people. I'm an open book, and enjoy long conversations, regardless of whether it's about deep interpersonal emotions or about which animal looks the silliest.

Teach, Learn, Share
I'd be delighted to teach and share recipes, learn about local foods, etc.
And on the music side of things: Get me started on music theory, especially if there's a keyboard nearby, and be ready for a 1 hour spontaneous lesson. Same with anything related to audio engineering and production.
