ABOUT ME

I'm Mathias, 26, from Berlin, Germany. I have been living here for the most time of my life. But now i like to go abroad seeing new grounds and work hard for new experiences. From October 2012 on i will be in New Zealand for half a year, travelling and working.
Get to know me:
After school i studied at the movies, but i was always interested in sounds and their effects on perception. So i worked on some movies designing what you hear while watching it. It is a fantastic work. Did you know most of the sounds expect the voice of an actor (sometimes not even that!) are added belated and mostly not coming from the source you see? To get more into the sound thing i started studying audio engineering at the local technical university. That's what i do at the moment. To go to New Zealand i took a holiday semester. After that i will finish my studies with the masters degree.
Furthermore i adore most kinds of music. I'm interested in classical music from all the "big names" like Bach, Beethoven, Mendelssohn, just to name a few, but i also love contemporary music like Schönberg, Webern and Stockhausen.
Since i was a little boy i was singing in choirs - currently i'm in the choir of Berlins Humboldt University along with over 100 other singers. Singing for me and in concerts for other people just makes me happy! On the other side i like it more danceable: I'm a vinyl-loving DJ for drum'n'bass music and had a few gigs in some of the established clubs in Berlin. I really enjoy the difference in the styles of music - it's a very well fitting balance for my musical horizon.
I am humble, open minded and prone to enthusiasm (as you can see ;)). But sometimes i need time for myself, maybe just sitting on a bench, reading a book or watching birds for a while. Well, thats me.
I watch out for a healthy diet and like to keep it vegetarian, as i do for over a year now.
I'm so excited to visit New Zealand, hopefully get to know fine people (like you?), have nice conversations and good times.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

When i was hiking in ligurian alps, first time seeing the mediterranean sea. It was the moment i realize, people can do big things on their own, just using their feet. you just need to start walking. it was a simple, but great moment for me.
