Go to events and propose. Answer and help people in CS groups if they need.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Couchsurfing was definitely the best website I ever found. Whereas Facebook is an end that makes you have virtual contacts with people you know in real life, CS would just be a tool that made you meet complete strangers in real life. What a nice use of internet!

What a great community! What fantastic people I have met!

Through CS, I received friendship, love, inspiration, courage and just so many great times.

The most important points to me were these:

-hospitality: In a world where economy is a central value (you only give if you get something in return) you could find people that were interested in giving without counterpart. In a world where people don't know their neighbors you could find people willing to give to complete strangers. It's making the saying "strangers are friends you haven't met yet" come true!

-advertisement free/ volunteer ran spirit of the website (which was a complete illusion maintained on purpose by the management): a website could be successful without advertisement, only based on donations from the users that it belong to (of course it was not the case but many of us believed so), keeping it independent.
