About Me
Hi there,
I am Mathilde! I am a huge nature lover and I am a vegetarian. I am very eco-friendly and I try to follow the Zero Waste movement as thoroughly as possible. I am cooking more than most people as I usually only buy raw products and make my own cosmetics, but I love it! I also have my own vegetable garden and always try to buy local products.
In my professional life, I am a translator and Dutch teacher. I work from English and Dutch to French. I am my own boss, which I enjoy very much as it enables me to adapt my work schedule and to work flexible hours.
I love having a good talk but I am not a night owl or a party beast, even though I like having a drink or dancing from time to time. I usually spend my evenings reading 🤓.
⚠️ DO NOT get in touch with me if you're looking for a girlfriend/someone to hook up with.
⚠️ PLEASE send me a personalized request and tell me why you want to stay with me. Mention my cat "Merlin" 🐈😉. I won't answer copy-paste. Thanks!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To me, travelling isn't having a checklist and doing as much as possible in a limited amount of time. I'd rather take my time and fully enjoy the experience. Slow travel is totally my thing! I also want to learn about the place where I am and the local culture. Couchsurfing enables me to meet knowledgeable people who show me their place and their environment as a true local, off the beaten track. That's why I love it.
Interests
Languages are my first passion. Speaking several languages is truly amazing and learning them is a lot of fun.
I recently starting sewing classes, which I love!
