ABOUT ME

I come from the South West of France, on the French side of the Basque country. I have recently graduated from a master programme during which I studied and worked in four different countries - Sweden, Germany, Netherlands and Portugal. I am now in Brussels since a few month, and after living in a suitcase for the past two years, I am ready to settle in Belgium for a while!
Although I lived in different countries in the past years, I haven't travelled per se and couchsurfed for a while. I however keep really good memories from my CS experiences, mostly when I traveled in Canada and Brazil, and would like to live this great human experience again!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have always been hosted by people whom were kind enough to be willing to show me around as well as a bit of their life style - from hosts who just shared a beer or meal with me decribing the places I could visit in their town, to a host and her children in Quebec who taught my friend and I to use snow rackets, or a host who invited me to a summer cabin in the sand dunes of a national park in Brazil. Indeed, CS has for me definitely been better than staying in a five star hotel!

Interests

Eating good food, learning languages, reading, hiking, going to arts museums, and since a couple of years dancing salsa!

Music, Movies, and Books

When it comes to music, I enjoy many different styles. What I listen really depends on my mood!
The best movie which I have seen recently, and is definitely one of my favourites now, is Capernaüm by Nadine Labaki.
As for books, I am currently reading The Pearl that Broke Its Shell by Nadia Hashimi, which I am really enjoying, and Small Country by Gaël Faye was also on of my recent favourites.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Snow biking and fishing on frozen Saint Lawrence River in Quebec; watching the sun set on the Uluru rock in Australia; cruising on the Amazon river for several days (and sleeping in a hammock!) in Peru and Brazil.
