About Me
CURRENT MISSION
My immediate mission is to kayak 2000km (3 months) from Juneau in Alaska, to Vancouver Island in Canada, to raise awareness about marine debris and raise the profile of women in adventure. We are leaving at the start of May 2018! Check out our website: www.passageadventures.org. I am looking for a place to stay while I iron out the last details of planning :D
My main mission is to be happy and bring happiness to other people that I meet on the way!
ABOUT ME
1. I was born in France, but moved to Oz when I was only 8 months old. Since then, I have lived in the states of Victoria, Western Australia, The Northern Territory and Queensland. I have had the privilege of travelling a fair bit when I was younger, and also having a family that loves camping and going on outdoor adventures.
2. I absolutely love travelling, being open-minded, meeting new people and trying new things.
3. I like to think I'm a fun person to be around (even if I'm the only one laughing at my jokes sometimes...most times...)
4. I have been living single-use plastic-free since the start of 2016 and love it! I try and minimise my other waste as much as I can, reducing consumption and recycling/re-purposing as much as I can. Most of my clothes and jewellery are from op-shops/thrift stores, I can;t remember the last time I went to a "proper" shop :D Check out my Facebook page for tips and tricks: https://www.facebook.com/PurgingPlastics/?fref=ts
5. I love animals (All of them!)
6. I have a passion for the environment and it's protection. I feel my happiest when I am completely surrounded by the sight, touch, smell and sound of nature
7. I also love having interesting discussions and debates and learning new things, expanding the mind :)
8. My hammock is my life
9. I'm trying to learn to play the ukulele. And cook. Both are a fairly slow process...
PHILOSOPHY
I believe in doing what you love, surrounding yourself with people who love and respect you, setting goals in life, and going out of your comfort zone to experience new things. I will also never be afraid to voice my opinion and stand up for what I think is right.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
On my travels I have come to realise that it's not only the physical place you visit, but the people you meet who make travelling incredible. I don't want to be your typical tourist who follows the rest of the foreigners like sheep. So couch surfing is perfect!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
In 2014 I did an exchange program at UVic in BC, Canada. I stayed with 2 different couchsurfers and had an awesome time at both places. I also made 2 incredible friends that were couchsurfing and messaged to catch up, one on a hike and another one camping, how cool is that!?
I have met a few couch surfers in Cairns and I love love LOVE showing people the paradise I live in . I want to continue to share that.
Interests
Some of my hobbies include aerial circus, rock climbing, hiking, kayaking, diving, skiing, hammocking (yes, it's a thing!), reading, slack lining, yoga, and pretty much everything outdoors actually...
I'm interested in learning.. and I'm very keen on chocolate, except for when it is mixed with mint. Or orange. No.

Music, Movies, and Books
Anyone who knows me well will know that I am incredibly frustrating when it comes to movie quotes, actors, references etc because I didn't grow up watching a lot of them, and I don't really watch a lot now. I love the classics, give me Monty Python any day. Anything that will make me laugh is up there. Anything where a dog dies in it is down the bottom. For TV shows, the IT crowd and Black Books will always be my favourite.
I always love a good novel. I have too many favourites that it's a bit overwhelming to write them down.
For music, I love a bit of everything really. Especially old school stuff (70's and 80's mostly). The Beatles and Queen... Yes please. I cannot walk past someone playing the Bohemian Rhapsody without pouring my heart and soul into singing along. One of my favourite soundtracks is the one from The Boat That Rocked. I also love some recent music too. The Temper Trap are amazing. Half Moon Run. Of Monsters and Men. The Kite String Tangle. Arctic Monkeys.. I like it when people share music with me, and LOVE discovering new bands that I never knew existed :)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I can't choose dammit!
Visiting Borneo on a university subject and seeing 5 ORANG-UTANS IN THE WILD AND SO MANY OTHER AWESOME ANIMALS, including 26 species of frogs!!!!!!!!. Getting adopted by a local river tribe over Christmas and New years and meeting many amazing people
Teach, Learn, Share
I love teaching aerial circus!
I also hope to inspire people around me to make a difference towards our future, especially through demonstrating with my own actions :)
I like to learn anything and everything.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share adventures, stories and a good laugh :) I can also share tips on living single-use plastic-free (but only if you want to learn, I don't shove things in peoples' faces)
