ABOUT ME

I'm a simple and optimistic person, who likes to laugh, travel and meet new people (not necessarily in that order, depending on days...)

Besides that I'm passionate about photography and theater.

I've been in Finland since August 2013 and I will stay here until may 2014 (studying EU history and sociology). When I'll come back to France I'll start journalism studies (and I'm really excited about that!)

Interests

Good time with friends or strangers, enjoying the view after climbing a mountain, reading newspaper in the bathtub (with chocolate it's even better), photography (you can check some of my photos there : mathildegoupil.com) and painting exhibitions... and of course the usual but enjoyable stuffs (movies, books, concerts...)

Music, Movies, and Books

Films
Besides the US blockbusters, I might like all kinds of movies! These are some I've enjoyed: The Godfather, The English Patient, Trainspotting, Bollywood movies (just too funny!), The Departed, Gangs of NY, Eternel Sunshine of the spotless mind, Gran Torino, Fight Club, 12 Angry Men, Intouchables, American History X, Usual Suspects, Edward Scissorhands (and more generally, all Burton's movies)...

Books
Huge fan of them. When I was a child I used to spent all my holidays in the fields/beach reading... Here are some I like : memories of the French writer Simone de Beauvoir, The Second Sex, Froth on the Daydream, The Unbearable Lightness of Being, polars by Harlan Coben, Harry Potter...

Music
Once again, I'm not that complicated to satisfy. Don't like pop or usually rap (except from Eminem I guess). Otherwise I like rock, indie, classical music, slam, electric music... The best for me it's live music whatever the type of music, so if you're a musician we'll get along ! I played the violin for years, I'm planning on starting the piano and ukulele next year - and I also love to sing (but not that well unfortunately hehe!).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Jumping from 10 meters high rocks last summer even though I'm dizzy ! So scary before. So great after.

Couple of months ago, I was sleeping in a Finnish national park. But I'd been to confident regarding the temperature and I couldn't close my eyes because of the cold. I spent the whole night listening to the forest noises and animals, taking pictures... Amazing moment after all !

Sunsets - everywhere in the world, anytime in the year, still the most simple and beautiful thing ever.
