About Me
Hmm. Let's see... I'm a geeky, friendly, funny person. I'm a programmer (recently also a teacher), thinking about becoming a game developer full time. I really like long walks, chilling out with awesome people, losing myself in deep conversation about a wide variety of fascinating subjects, learning about different cultures, lifestyles and mindsets, traveling of course ;)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I simply LOVE the concept of hospitality offered this way, and I really enjoy the company of the kind of people who're into this. I'm very new to this and only went to one meeting and had a great time. Couchsurfers seem to have the type of energy that quickly rubs off on you and makes your life richer right away.
I'd really like to go backpacking again soon (last time in NZ a few years back, I didn't even know about this) and make friends wherever I am - also one of the most advertised things about couchsurfing: I'm sure experiencing a new place by hanging out with locals (who want to hang out with you!) is so much better than traditional tourism. I'd also like to host as soon as I have my own place, same reasons besides giving back to the community... so whatever happens first!
Interests
Well, I really like reading, all sorts of stuff, both fiction and non-fiction books, blogs, wikipedia articles... :D
I like going out for a beer with friends or strangers and just talk and chill, I like DIY or generally stuff to do with my hands (from fixing things to origami) and I love languages (I speak Esperanto!). I enjoy staying in from time to time to watch a movie, and luckily the thing I chose to do with my life, programming, is also something I do on my own just for fun (ie creating games).
I like walking a lot, and going out for a run/jog a couple times a week. I meditate almost everyday and I'm curious about buddhism. What else? I'd like to get more into ecology/sustainability and become a vegetarian. I love cooking but I feel I really should do a course to widen the range of dishes I can make.

Music, Movies, and Books
Hmmm, I don't think my music tastes are very interesting, I have music from pretty much every genre in my library. If I have to name a couple bands I like more I'd say Pink Floyd, Queen, Creedence.
Same with movies, I enjoy all kinds, maybe more the ones that leave me thinking, but that's also depending on my mood. I LOVE reading science fiction, but then again I also like Castaneda...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've gone backpacking to New Zealand for nine months with a working holiday visa. First time away from home for more than a week, and had an amazing experience that completely opened my mind. I worked, visited, hitchhiked, did WWOOF (similar to helpx, help a few hours a day in a farm or wherever in exchange for food and accommodation), and met some amazing people. I'm looking forward to a long trip like that again :)
Teach, Learn, Share
I really like teaching! The subjects I'd feel confident in are programming, Spanish and Esperanto, and giving an introduction to meditation or 3D modelling (in Blender - I'm still a beginner).
What I Can Share with Hosts
besides teaching from the things I know, I like to help with whatever I can, cleaning, helping fix stuff or working around the place, whatever I can help with to leave it better than when I arrived!
