Overview
About Me
I come from the south of Argentina, and I've been living in Buenos Aires since 8 years. I studied cinema, work as a cameraman for a couple of TV channels. So I love the cinema (mainly not too much mainstream), I love photography and arts.
By several reasons I wasn't so much fan of travel until I decided to move out of the comfort zone and did a first big trip (well for me it was a big trip) two moths to Peru and Bolivia, the experience awakened some feelings that I've never felt before. It was also my first travel alone, but actually "alone" was the last thing that I have felt on the trip, I've been constantly surrounded by wonderful people, from whom I've learned a lot.
I started to love traveling a bit later in my life, so, I need to catch up!
After that trip in November of 2016 went on a three month trip around Europe, where I visit some friends that I've met thanks to the previous trip, some that had left Argentina, and made a ton of new friends. Also, I used Couchsurfing for the first time. It was such an amazing experience, and thanks to that, I decided to start to host people here in Buenos Aires.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I like to meet new people (Who doesn't??) and I believe that beside our own things that makes us ourselves, we are a mix of all the people that we've met (yeah that means, surround yourself with good people, not shitty people). Meeting people make us learn, about others, and about ourselves, and grow.
I started here because I wanted to travel and meet people from other places, didn't want to go to a place and be the typical tourist taking selfies with the main attractions. Wanted to hear stories, lives, sharing things with locals, and other traveler.
And now I want host people as well. I had the luck of meeting some really good and experienced hosts, learned a lot about them. I think that all that cultural experiences made them better persons (cultural experiences by itself doesn't make someone a better person if that person is already an asshole, just clarifying) and I want a bit of that too. Meeting people from other places you can travel to other cultures without moving from your city.
Music, Movies, and Books
Always that I start to say my favorite things, is totally shitty I end up remembering not all the things that I like.. but some of the most important things are:
Lost in translation, Before Sunrise (before sunset, before midnight), The Wrestler, París Texas, Broken Flowers, Her, Upstream Color, Force Majeure, La Salada, Touch of Evil, The Salt of the Earth, What We Do in the Shadows, Welles, Hitchcock, Tarantino, Wenders, Allen, Coppola, Fincher, Wes Anderson, lets not forget the mainstream but always amazing Back to the Future, Star Wars (original trilogy) and series like The Office, Louie, Breaking Bad, Stranger Things, House of Cards.. And loads, loads more.
About music, the same.. the ones that come to my mind very easily and I listen the most are, Junip, Jose Gonzalez, Arcade Fire, Alabama Shakes, Edward Sharpe and.. (Too long), The War on Drugs, The Black Keys, Clapton, Morrisey, The Beatles, Philip Glass, Cerati, Charly Garcia, etc
Teach, Learn, Share
Ummm.. Well, I end up always teaching some photography to the people I travel with, it's impossible to not do it, explain some things, or showing how to use their cameras, or mine. Also because I'm not too much fan of selfies, so I teach some basics about framing, compositing, and that stuff so when I want a photo they can do it well. I always end up with just a couple of mine and a bunch of them. Basically averybody that travel with me ends up with a ton of photos of themselves. :)
Oh, and movies, it's always nice to talk about movies and filmmaking if possible. That's my teaching and sharing I guess.
About learning... I'm open to everything.
