ABOUT US
We are two explorers, Al (35, from San Carlos, Uruguay) and Mati (35, from San Carlos de Bariloche, Argentina). Two wandering souls walking back home, currently living our dream of traveling by bicycle.
The path we seek to follow is from Spain to the Himalayas, passing through Turkey and India.
Mati has been traveling for 10 years, and has covered much of America and Europe, visiting and living in different countries.
Al has been traveling for 8 years, has traveled much of South America and some of Asia, also visiting and living in various countries.
But we prefer to delve into these experiences in the conversations we can have if they seem interesting to you.
LIFE PHILOSOPHY
Love is for us the path of life, and we seek to practice it in every moment and with every being we interact with.
Gratitude for every situation that comes into our lives has allowed us to find a path of calmness and fulfillment for the soul.
We practice not judging the situations that come to us and the actions of other beings. We work on this daily because not only do words count, but also thoughts.
We believe, and have experienced, that we create reality from the mind, so we seek to sustain the thoughts that lead us to live in fullness.
We seek to nourish ourselves with the highest vibrations possible, within what we can consciously choose. We apply this to food (we follow a plant-based diet) and also to other areas (music, spaces we share, conversations we have, news, among others).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
The most of the time when traveling I don’t like to do the typical hostel touristy things - rather I look for a truly genuine cultural experience. I believe one must live and get to know the locals of wherever they are traveling to. Locals can show a side of the target destination that no guidebook or website can.
I believe tourism is more to get to know how different kind of people live instead of going to the main square and taking photos or doing tours. CS is a nice way to get to the locals and find out their kind of living.
