At this point I am unable to accept guests if you are not taking the time to read my bio. We have found it not to be as nuturing and educational as it could be through hosting.
Unfortunately most people don’t read my profile properly and respect the plastic policy I am trying to teach or the waste free / less lifestyle. If you Request to stay the least you could do is put the effort in to know who you are staying with.

We do not want to host people who are using us to get started in Brisbane. That is what hostels / hotels or Airbnb is for, you can get your shit in order there and move in, get your job etc. We don’t want to be getting your mail or having you just spend your time asking me about banks, places to live and places to work that’s what google is for.

We want to host people who are travelling and genuinely want to learn about Australia or need a place to stay whilst their journey travelling is continuing.

Unfortunately if you are not confident to talk to people whether you have a hard time speaking English ( that is fair) locking yourself in your room and using us just for a free bed is kind of upsetting.
We go out of our way to make this place feel homely and comfortable and when people don’t make much of an effort to even spell our names right it’s kind of annoying.

Read the profile first and then message. We don’t have to have anything in common for you to stay.
Understand you have to read the bio about no meat in the house! Limit your plastic, put your recycling in the right bin cleaned out & only flush toilet when it’s isnt cool to let the yellow mellow!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couch surfing is an opportunity to not only embrace a place you visit but it's best quality "the people". You get to learn from the very best, those special someone's who have lived there and experienced their country for all it's qualities, good and bad. We too often forget when travelling that it is about ticking of some unachievable list off "to the must do's and sees' and we forget the truly remarkable must see is the people. Being blessed in enjoying home style hospitality, housing, company and being shown the secret gems of their city that only the 'locals know'. I love couch surfing as I feel like I am truly exposed to another side of travelling which deepens the path of learning on my journey around the world.
