About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Avoid further (formal) education through world travel

ABOUT ME

I hail from a small town in beautiful New Zealand. I just finished my science degree and am hoping for a bit of real-life education and see more beautiful and exciting things before tying myself down to more study.

PHILOSOPHY

Do what you love and don't hurt anyone doing it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've couchsurfed three times so far, travelling in the UK and Paris with my friend from high school. Our hosts have been great so far, with one or two hiccups with will make great anecdotes! Ready to do some more, on my own this time. :)

Interests

I'm a sucker for interesting science debates and will tell you all about genetic engineering and evolution if you give me half a chance. I love theatre and film; books and music. I like photography and hope to do a lot while travelling. I also like to sew and have constructed a large proportion of my wardrobe's contents.

Music, Movies, and Books

Lots of things!
I love indie music: Iron and Wine; Arcade Fire; Beirut; Sufjan Stevens; The National; Postal Service; Yann Teirson; Voxtrot; Tallest Man on Earth; Coeur de Pirate and many more.
Love novels, but a sucker for teen fantasy like Harry Potter and books by Philip Reeve, Philip Pullman and Garth Nix. Also love the classics and a bit of everything else.
Love all sorts of movies but please no Ben Stiller or Steve Carrell.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Bungee-jumped at Lake Taupo in New Zealand and seen the sun set over the Mount at Tauranga as a paraglider sailed overhead.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can give you a crash course on biology, specifically genetics or biochem? I can teach you how to make a fish glow in the dark. If you have a machine I can teach someone to sew. I once made badges out of painted bits of wood and safety pins?

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Austria, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Netherlands, South Korea, Switzerland, United Kingdom, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In

New Zealand, United States
