From what I've experienced so far there's nothing such as meeting and creating connection with people while travelling

I think that places and cities are strictly connected with people and inhabitants, visiting a city without talking with somebody that actually lives there would make my journey usless

One of my favourite things in life is speaking , chatting and having conversation with different people and in different languages. The only thing I love more than speaking is listening. I literally adore spending my time listening what are poeple's stories , momories or whatever they feel free to share .. so basically I can offer a always-open-ear.
