About Me

Hello dear surfers,

My name is Matisse...rings a bell? If yes that is because it was the name of an awesome French painter and you are awesome because you know him!

I'm currently living in....I actually don't know. Still figuring out and jumping around couple trade cities for work. But, I can tell you where I have lived before not having a clear idea of where to set my shiny pinky tent: in Brussels, Switzerland (Geneva and a small city that you wouldn't know, in the Italian Canton), Budapest, Helsinki, Mexico City, Barcelona. So, until few months ago, I definitely had a kind of issue with the fact og staying in the same place for a while. Now, I can't just wait to finally get settle somewhere where I can have MY apt, my hood, my supermarket, my favourite cafe, my pool etc. Let's make this clear: still wanna travel the world FOR SURE so lets not get confused because travelling is different from establishing yourself somewhere.

I'm open-minded, out-going, and curious. I like to learn about different cultures, languages, cuisines and see as many places as my eyes can see, smell as many delicious food as my nose can smell, and walk as many km as my legs can walk! People sometimes tell me I'm crazy - they always specify "in a good sense though", but I'd rather say "adventurous"...because, hey, life's only one. You gotta enjoy it!

I had my first cs experience in 2016 in Medellin...what to say...man, it was pretty dope. I just love immensely this community! I adore meeting all sort of open minded people in here. Every time I meet true surfers, I feel inspire and I get enough positive energy to deal with daily boring normal life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

IMPORTANT:
1. GENERIC REQUESTS
Don't send me copy & paste general requests. They will be rejected. I want you to take 2 mins of your life to actually read my profile and tell what caught your interests and why you would like to share the CS experience with me. Of course I am not asking a detailed summary of my profile but at least 1 reason why it would be fun! My couch is not free accommodation.

2. HOSTING ONLY WOMEN
Sorry guys and couples, but as I live alone, I feel more comfortable hosting women only. We can nonetheless meet up for a drink. Definitely down for that but please GUYS don't waste my time sending me a request. I will reject it and also get annoyed.

3. HOUSE RULES
- Please help me to keep my place TIDY and CLEAN, above all kitchen and bathroom! I am scared of hair (it does exists even though it sounds weird) so please, especially after taking showers, make sure you don't leave many hairs on the floor and/or in the sink.

Be aware that my apt is lovely but it's small. The wc is in a room next to the living room but the shower is in my room so you cannot have access to it when I am sleeping (late and early morning). Sorry!

I don't usually leave keys (may do an exception though) so you may have to come out of the house with me at around 9 am. Then I am back in the evening; if I have guests I try to be back before 7 (unless there is something urgent at work).

Please be careful when you close the door upstairs and downstairs; be gentle as my neighbours have already complained. Thank you =)

WHY I AM ON COUCHSURFING
Since when I was young had a feeling of evasion, a desire to discover the world, and meet people of different cultures as I've never truly identified myself with one place/nationality. I rather feel I have way more in common with people of complete different places, traditions and backgrounds.

Interests

I'm very interested in International Law, International Politics and International Relations. This is if I want to look intellectually cool. Otherwise I simply like to talk about crazy adventurous, traveling, and how to live happy.

Sports: I love tennis and used to play semi-professionally. Once it was my life but then I got injured and had to quit - shit happens...

I love dogs - I don't normally trust cat persons even though I might make an exception. I used to have several dogs. Dogs simply make me smile, a lot, and do a stupid childish voice because they are like lovely babies. The love of my life was Arcobaleno (which means rainbow in Italian): a short fatty brownish dachshund - I looooooove dachshunds!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I'm a fond of hip hop, rap (I do wish to specify that I'm not referring to the shitty ones to see on tv. I listen to underground music; for me the lyric is the most important thing), jazz and electro-andino.

Books: I am a fan of the category of realismo magico, such as La casa de los espiritus de Isabel de Allende. In general, I love novels that talks about politics, history, mixed with personal stories.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- Leaving a job in Switzerland for going to Mexico to live la vida loca (well, and work my ass off too);

- My CS experiences: ending up in narcos' houses in Medellin; being invited by a surfer I didn't know to attend my first wedding in SF (which was pretty dope: in the most hipster park I have ever seen, between cheerleaders, potheads, people playing beerpoing; reading vows by the ipad and for food friend chicken and pancakes); shall I continue? CS is a pretty damn interesting place indeed!

- Canopy in Costa Rica's forest, along with exploring its volcanos and surfing beaches

Teach, Learn, Share

Change is good, take the risk. The worst thing is to live with regrets.

Live the present. Every second is unique and you will never get it back as it came. The past has already been, and, as for the future, its time will come.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share about my experience living and travelling to different countries, meeting several people from all around the world. Can def cook something together and red wine is always welcomed!
