About Me

I'm a 28 year old social worker and globetrotter who lives the world! 🌎 At the moment I live in Stockholm, Sweden, where I work for a small NGO. Currently my partner and I are traveling across Europe with a beach buggy from 1968!🚗

I’ve been traveling and working in South East Asia. I have been working 2 years for the hostel chain Mad Monkey hostels, being a part of expanding our brand throughout Thailand. I truly enjoyed these years, meeting thousands of backpackers, making sure they had an awesome time staying at our hostels!
As for now, we will be moving around pretty spontaneously in Europe and I wish to meet all kind of cool people on the way!

During the last years I’ve been living abroad a lot. Besides the last 2 years in Thailand, I spent one semester in India during my studies, where I did my internship in different organisations and NGOs, studied social work and gender studies, explored Indian culture and habits and lived life! I also traveled around the country during one month. I really felt in love with the Indian food, and the people are very nice and friendly. I can share a lot of stories about culture and traveling in India if you want to meet me up.

ABOUT ME

I'm originally from Turku, Finland. I’ve been living in Stockholm, Sweden, the last 6 years where I have been studying social work at Stockholm University. Besides my studies I've been working at a coffeeshop called Espressohouse (kind of like the Swedish version of Starbucks), so I'm an expert in making good latte and cappuccinos!

Currently I’ve been living in Bangkok, Thailand, where I’ve been working for a hostel chain called Mad Monkey. I’m very much in love with the Thai culture, locals and of course the food!
However, now I’m back to traveling life and my future plans are open again - I’m looking for some new challenges. Let’s see what happens and go with the flow??

I have also been living in Berlin, Germany, for a half year, and I very much enjoyed it. I love the feeling in the city, all the happiness and the people, and it's a very multicultural and accepting atmosphere in the whole city. I would really recomend you to visit Berlin if you ever get the chanse! :)

About my personality - many people would probably say that I'm a bit crazy and usually come up with funny ideas ;) I laugh often and I'm usually in a happy mood. I love to have fun and meet new people, and one of my biggest interests is meeting new cultures, exploring new places and interact with new people! I very much enjoy the nature and love to go hiking or rockclimbing, and of course I like to party too, and I enjoy drinking a good beer :)

PHILOSOPHY

Be open minded to everyone and everything you meet in life - and remember, not everyone see the world from your perspective.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favourite movie is "into the wild", totally awsome! The lord of the rings triology, harry potter, inception and many other movies as well. Action and thrillers are my favourites. I read a lot and like many kind of books. One of my favourite books are Khaled Husseinis books "the kite runner" and "a thousend splendid suns", and I usually prefer to read books that's based on real happenings.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hmm...well, I have done a lot of really amazing things haha! But one of the most amazing trips I've done is for sure my backpacking trip in South America! Me and my friend were traveling around there and had a lot of really good experience, although the "adventure" sometimes became a bit too risky. But overall one of my best travel experiences ever!

I love to hitchhike and always prefer to do that instead of taking trains or bus, simply because you always meet so many interesting people and it's a lot of fun. My best hitchhiking trips are: 2012 trough the Atacama desert 3000km from Santiago to Peru, 2015 from Austria to Amsterdam the whole way in just 16 hours, and then recently I hitchhiked from Stockholm to Berlin and back. I think it's working very well to hitchhike in Europe, it's relatively safe and people are very friendly and pick you up.

I have also been interrailing when I was 18, and that was a pretty amazing time too! We saw a lot and met new people, and we didn't have a lot of money so we and slept in different places for instance in the forest and at trainstations. Besides traveling I have had really interesting job experiences, and I really love my job in Stockholm! I take care of old people and help them with for example cooking, cleaning and showering, and it feels so good to help other people. I have also been working at restaurants, bars, coffeeshops, kindergartens, elderly care etc. In the future I hope to work with immigrants in the so called Migration Administration in Sweden.

Teach, Learn, Share

I always think you should challenge yourself - go out and see the world, meet people and get new experience! It's never too late!
