Hey I'm Matt! I was born in the Louisiana swamps but moved to the Austin area after graduating high school in 2000. I went to Texas State University and I'm a supervisor with Texas Dept of Family Protective Services.

Ever since I was a kid, I've moved every 1-3 years, so I've gotten really good at meeting new people and getting accustomed to new environments. I never traveled overseas until two years ago, but now I have the travel bug in a bad way. I'm making plans to travel the world indefinitely after June, 2017.

I've got a passion for cooking meat in my BBQ smoker and I'm really looking forward to learning the styles of cooking in Argentina and Uruguay. I love grilling for people, I promise you won't go hungry here.

I've got a ton of really great friends and I know all the best spots to eat, drink, hike, swim and dance I'd love to show you around if you're interested!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

After searching my soul for the past few years, I decided I don't have to choose any single damn thing in life, so I'm throwing myself to the wind and making plans to leave the U.S in June, 2017. I'm going to be traveling indefinitely with limited funds, so I figured that joining the couch surfing community would be a wise thing to do and I should probably help out my fellow travelers while I have the opportunity to do so.
