About Me
Let's see. I enjoy being in nature, doing fun activities in nature (boarding of all sorts, rock climbing, hiking, camping, etc...), hanging out with friends and family, gardening, spirituality, reading, playing music (I play guitar), listening to music (really into jam bands and conscious roots reggae). I started a landscaping business called Sunny Skies Property Services, which I enjoy being involved in (both the business and contracting aspects). I have an amazing partner Molly, who has helped me grow into an open and loving person (at least most of the time haha). If we end up meeting, you can get to know me more in person!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've learned that trust in the goodness of people in our communities is such a valuable and beautiful thing. I specifically learned a lot of lessons in Hawaii, and their way of life, or what can be called the Aloha spirit. So many people there were so giving and friendly. Most were not afraid to pick up strange and dirty looking hitchhikers on the side of the road and almost everyone you meet had a kind smile and looks you in the eyes. Couchsurfing seems to foster a similar warm, open environment. By opening up your couch, or trusting in the safety of another persons, we are breaking down some fear based walls rampant in some societies, and replacing them with love. So I guess I'm on Couchsurfing to experience that connection with people, as well as meet some amazing new people who are local to areas that I'll be travelling in, and can help me truly understand the beauty of each place.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Last year my partner and I went to the Big Island of Hawaii for 3 months. We spent a lot of time volunteering on an organic farm/healing sanctuary. In the last 2 weeks of our trip, we backpacked around the entire island, camping and going with the flow along the way. We were amazed to have hiked the trek from Waipio Valley to Waimanu Valley (10 miles up and down several gulches along the coast). It was completely worth the effort, because it was absolutely beautiful and secluded - we had the beach and trails to ourselves to enjoy.
Teach, Learn, Share
Enjoy every moment. If we quiet the mind or surrender our mental constructs, we can see the beauty in every moment. Even the simple act of breathing, which consistently happens every moment of our lives, is one of the best feelings ever. Just noticing the beauty around us brings tremendous peace, happiness, and abundance.
