About Me

Originally from the New England area I have now resided in the Pacific Northwest since 2009. I've come to enjoy being outside hiking, climbing, kayaking, cycling or anything else that allows me to enjoy the beauty and wonders that Mother Nature offers.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm here to make the company of new friends and acquaintances and be able to enjoy the places and cities they live in with their budding knowledge of those places.

I also hope to in the future to be able to do the same for others but at this current moment in time my living situation doesn't allow it. Anyways I'm always open to chat so feel free to reach out to me if you are interested.

Interests

I enjoy traveling, nature, hiking, backpacking, climbing, kayaking, board/card games, good conversations as well as many other things. I'm a rather open an patient person and tend to mesh with many different personality types.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy lots of various styles of music. Some of my current pandora channel artists include Dustin Kensrue, The Eagles, Bob Dylan, Bob Seager, Pentatonix, k.d Lang, Old Crowe Medicine Show and many others.

I have lots of favorite movies so I'll list some recent one's I've seen: The Hunger Games, The Monuments Men, Stranger Than Fiction, Anchor Man 2 and many more.

I used to read a lot more than I currently do so not a whole lot of newly favorite books. Just started reading one called Spirited Waters and recently finished another called Faith and Doubt.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I drove 3200 miles in 5-6 days from Massachusetts to San Diego California back at the end of 2006. This was a moment when I had decided to make a change in my life and moved across the country with only my truck and a small uhaul trailer. I arrived with $136 left in my name and no job yet set up. Found one within 2 weeks and lived in San Diego for 2 years.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you basic climbing and kayaking techniques and best practices. Also willing to share and learn more about the world of challenge course facilitation.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I have a rather good grasp of knowledge for basic climbing and kayaking instruction although I don't currently hold any certifications in either of these sports.

Countries I’ve Visited
