Overview
About Me
I would say I am a outspoken, curious and passionate person. Spending time with friends, meeting new people, I like to talk and to gain a different point of view. I graduated from med school a few weeks ago and are planning on enjoying a long summer before I start working. I did study Medicine and Economics in my hometown Vienna, Austria. I live with two friends in an apartment next to the danube channel.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Although I do not think that gaining a more profound understanding of the world is exclusively achievable through traveling, but mainly by interactions with people at home or abroad. I find traveling a beautiful way of seeing new places and meeting people, understanding different and similar ways of live and reflecting upon yourself and your own society. During my one year memorial service at the International Department of the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam I had the chance to travel many countries and to stay with working colleagues. Getting to know new countries along side local friends was amazing. Hearing the insides and backgrounds to the often superficial views you have as a tourist made it possible for me to gain a more profound understanding of the country I visited. I believe that couch surfing is the perfect mean to travel again that way. Three years ago I spent a couple of weeks couch-surfing in Norway with a tent and a sleeping bag. I had a wonderful time and am looking forward of repeating this experience in Finland.
Interests
Even though I do study medicine my biggest interests are politics, sociology and history. I like reading and discussing political theory and do also actively participate in the socialist youth in vienna. I love playing football and beachvolleyball. Hiking is one great passion of mine. Usually I hike in northern Italy close to the hometown of mother, but hiking in the Peruvian Andes and the Norwegian mountains increased my interest to climb other mountains abroad. I also love to cook, dance, sleep and play cards!

Music, Movies, and Books
I listen to all kinds of music, a lot classics like pink floyd, sixto rodriguez, the clash, led zeppelin. But also hiphop, country, chamber music to read and study and electro to dance.
My favorite author is Bertolt Brecht, but I also like reading Thomas Bernhard, Joseph
Roth, Sartre, Camus, Kraus, Tolstoi, Bulgakov and Dario Fo.
I do like movies but at the moment I do watch more series like orange is the new black, got, borgen, true detective and house of cards.
