I am a 28 year old originally from Iowa currently living in Indiana. I moved to Indiana for a job right out of college about five years ago. For the past three years I've had this urge to go on long distance multi-day bike rides, and cycling across the U.S. always had an alluring appeal to me. Only for the past year have I actually taken those urges and turned them into a reality. Last year I did a short two day trip from Indianapolis to Louisville then I followed that up with a five day trip down Hwy 1 from San Francisco to San Luis Obispo. I was hooked and I haven't stopped thinking about riding across the country since.

Recently the company I work for offered a voluntary severance package as they were trying to reduce headcount. It was too serendipitous of an opportunity that I couldn't pass it up. Currently I am cycling from Yorktown, Va to San Franciso, Ca on the Trans Am / Western Exp raising money for Bike the US for MS. Check out my blog at www.ExplorePlanetEarth.org!
