About Me
I made it all the way across America and back, seeing and meeting so many incredible people and places. I'm a big fan, Couchsurfing was a big help along the way, and I hope to be back and return the kindness shown to me in the future!
Hey! My name is Matt, I'm a 26 year old musician (or former music student!) that is always ready for the next great life experience. I am a huge fan of exercise in all forms and getting lost outside; it's always a very relaxing experience for me, however tough. Along with that, I am a sucker for comedy, especially any incredible stand-up/improv. When I can, I love playing, writing, listening and enjoying as much music as possible, so America has been incredible for that so far! I have worked with a lot of different people in the 'creative industry', so also love to get involved with anything I can find; art, fashion, film, you name it! If great people are creating great things, I am always happy to lend a hand in any way I can.
I was working at a digital media company for the last year, with YouTube and several clients editing and uploading videos. I have become quite knowledgeable about all things YouTube/Editing related, and am very happy to share this knowledge with anyone that would like to learn.
I can also teach you how to become a great movie extra, how to sound more English and how to stay focussed during very long queues. All very important life skills I've picked up from back home.
Music, Movies, and Books
My favourite genres are Funk, Jazz, R&B and Soul. Currently, my favourite acts/artists are Prince, Childish Gambino, D'Angelo, Toto and Hiatus Kaiyote. But this can change!
I love most types of movies. I love the process of how they are made right through to the final product, so I have found myself watching almost anything that has an interesting story to it. Lately, I really enjoyed, 'Arrival', 'Don't Think Twice' and 'The Lobster'.
I will read anything that I can get my hands on, but lately I have particularly liked the works of Cormac McCarthy. I'm about half-way through, 'Blood Meridian', and would strongly recommend it (and most of his work!), and have read most of Hunter S Thompson's work. Huge fan!

Teach, Learn, Share
I love to learn anything I can from new people that I meet, and have always found that this makes me life experiences much more rewarding. With that in mind, I would happily teach some of the things that I know and can do well, be that music or media related, or even something like lifting weights in a gym. Whatever I can do!
