About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To do things - fun, memorable things!
ABOUT ME
I like to consider myself a pretty relaxed, independent, trustworthy person. I love anything at least remotely expressive, like language, art, music, etc. I like to joke (perhaps a bit too much), and I believe there isn't enough happiness in this world, so I tell myself I'm doing society a favour. Culture is such an important thing to me, and is something I strive to discover more and more about during this lifetime. I've been learning French since early 2008, and am currently living in France, working as a language assistant. In future, I'd love to tackle another language or two...or eight. I'm currently studying Arts and Education at Flinders University, and have had experience teaching students English and French.
PHILOSOPHY
Take life as it comes. Don't plan things too much - it'll never work out that way. Or maybe it will. Good for you if so.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Couch Surfing is a fantastic idea. Essentially, it's my ticket to expanding horizons, seeing new cultures, meeting the beautiful people of this world.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My CouchSurfing experience is limited, BUT I know I've made longtime friends from such brief encounters. In that respect, CouchSurfing is pretty incredible.

Music, Movies, and Books
The list is too huge for my attention span. My taste is pretty diverse, and I'm happy to expand my repertoire whenever I can get the chance.
Comedy is always a good place to start. Or something art-housie and bizarre. Something original and fresh.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I spent a week with a couple Serbian friends and their family in the Serbian country, a few kilometres from the Romanian border. Experiencing their way of life was so incredible, especially in the dead of winter where walks down the road became fights for survival. My friends would probably say to me, 'Pfft, yeah whatever Matt', but it truely did change me.
Teach, Learn, Share
I grew up in what is considered to be the "outback" of Australia, and then moved to the city of Adelaide. I consider this to be a huge advantage for me, in that I have experienced both sides to Australian life. I look forward to telling anyone who wants to hear how Australia's country and city life work; especially to clear up the insane belief that kangaroos jump around our backyards --- often.
