Informazioni generali
Chi sono
Hey everybody!
The name's Matt and I am a lover of skiing, cycling, and gaining new perspectives (and friendships) while abroad. I love to capture moments along the way, be that through photography, videography or stories.
I was fortunate to be born and raised in beautiful Calgary, Alberta, with the world famous Rocky Mountains (the Canadian Alps) in the backyard. No matter how many corners of our wonderful world I reach, Alberta will always be home.
The place I currently call home is Vancouver in beautiful British Columbia, where I work as an engineer in renewable energy.
Perché sono iscritto su Couchsurfing
I have had the privilege of travelling to sixteen countries (so far), the majority of those during my undergraduate studies abroad. Throughout these travel experiences I have relied on crashing with friends or in hostels, and in doing so have met some amazing people who have made positive impacts on my life.
Couchsurfing is the next step towards meeting more interesting, inspiring and adventurous new friends while abroad.

Musica, film e libri
I'm an easygoing music-lover, open to grooving out to music of all genres. Favourite book: The Name of the Wind, a novel I can toss in the backpack every trip. As for favourite movie: The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King. Or the Lion King. Really any movie with 'king' in the title.
Una cosa incredibile che ho fatto
I am incredibly privileged to have a list of many memorable experiences, both abroad and in my own backyard, however, a 14 km hike along the unrestored Gubeikou section of the Great Wall of China has to take the cake. Spent the day with great friends and only came across one other traveller on the wall, it will be a day I won't soon forget.
