ABOUT ME
I would say that I am undeniably Californian, laid back, beach loving, and fun. I'm always down for the next adventure.
I am about to embark on a journey to Rwanda for the next year working with an awesome non profit called Shooting Touch. I will be building basketball courts, coaching, and teaching youth over there about health and disease prevention.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
The few times I have couch surfed it has been a great experience. I have met a few hosts who have brought a new light to their city to me, and you can tell that sometimes they see a city in a new way just from having a person with fresh eyes staying their.
I have also had the great experience of meeting up with a past couch surfing host who came over to California, and we hung out and went to a comedy club. Its great to know that these relationships can last.
Interests
I enjoy sports, being outdoors, hikes, photography, surfing, trivia nights, boardgames, reading news, snowball fights, the NBA.

Music, Movies, and Books
Favorite Music Movies & Books are always so hard because things of this nature are ever changing for me.
Lets start with music. It's a true passion for me, something I need and often feel I can not get enough of. It started off with all the oldies your parents pass down for you like the Beatles, and Stones, and some great surf rock like Dick Dale and such.
Then adolescence hit, and it was all pop punk Blink 182 and New Found Glory, and anything that fit with that angsty growing up in Southern California feel. I have almost completely stopped listening to the genre I loved, but still cling to The Wonder Years as probably my favorite band currently.
From there on it has been one long exploratory phase of understanding the rich history of hip hop, to enjoying up and coming folk bands, to post rock, to Caribou and LCD Soundsystem.
I'm one of those people who can just get hooked on a song for weeks, and love finding out more, so hopefully I can learn from bands from you!
Books are a harder one, I think my favorite book is To Kill a Mockingbird. (I'm afraid to read Go Set a Watchman for fear of ruining the book)
I love Kerouac, and Hunter S. and could read anything that involves an adventure or two.
Also I'd rather talk about TV, even though it is something I'm not too caught up with.
I'm currently watching Last Week Tonight, along with You're the Worst, Narcos, House of Cards, Ballers, that's about all I have time to catch up with.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
You could say in the past I was a professional roadtripper. I have driven across the country multiple times working with an organization called Roadtrip Nation.
I had the amazing opportunity to talk to high school students about defining their own road in life! That means we would talk to teenagers and open up their horizons about careers of successful individuals who did things that they were passionate about. It was an awesome way to meet great kids, and also see so many parts of America.
From Huntsville Alabama, to Chicago, to Miami, Reno I can say I have a greater perspective on this country and the people who live here. It is awesome!
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you how to surf if you're ever out in California!
There are so many things I need to learn still its hard to know where to start. I'd love to know any recipes you may have so I could add them to my arsenal!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I usually have a good story or two to share!
Also I like to bring a bottle of wine or beer for my hosts, but if you don't drink I'm sure we'll figure out some other arrangement.
I can cook alright, but I definitely wouldn't say I'm a chef.
