About Me

From the great state of Texas. I love good food, meeting new people and exploring new places. I often enter into my adventures with little planing and lots of positive energy and so far it has worked out pretty well for me.

Insta is @matt__wink

I'm an ambivert so always cool with a night of low key conversation or privacy but also enjoy going out with all types of people. I find it pretty easy to have fun and connect with almost anyone... helps if theres good music and drinks around too.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am totally unofficial anthropologist, fascinated by people and the exchange of culture.

I have had so many great experiences with CS and love the openness to the world that CSers have. I like getting and giving the authentic feel of a city in a way that only a local can offer.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Not good at this type of question but...

I traveled to Chile and worked on a documentary about a female hip hop artist in Santiago. Working on a project like that was by far the coolest, best, most fun way to get to know a city. Meeting the best musicians and going to all their favorite bars, restaurants and music venues.

Since I quit my job to do this and already had my camera equipment with me in Chile I traveled for 6 more months after the project. To keep things costs low I would shoot promotional videos in exchange for free stays at hotels and hostels, that was an amazing time.
