About Me

ABOUT ME
I've been a Couchsurfer since 2013, but since 2020 I have my own profile. (Until then I was travelling with my family. https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/markom_family) I live in Tulln, close to Vienna, with my family and I‘m part of their hosting activities.

I love to cook and I‘m really into filmmaking and photography. I do also enjoy reading and writing (which I do way too rarely) or simply watching Youtube Videos or Netflix (which I do way too much).
Interested in almost everything, especially history and politics, but I can find interest in lots of other things as well.
And, most obivious, I really love travelling.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My first travelling experiences with my family when I was 9 years old already included couchsurfing, so I pretty much grew up with it. Hosting was a great opportunity for my family to invite the world into our home, since it's not always possible traveling.

In the beginning it was a great opportunity to start talking some words in English, but when English was not problem anymore it became simply meeting amazing people and having good conversations.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Deciding to go to Israel to volunteer at Yad Vashem (Holocaust Museum and Memorial) for 10 months. It was the first time I was abroad alone for a longer period of time, and it had its challenges (for example finding accommodation), but all in all it was a great experience. I visited many places both in Israel and Palestine (Westbank). It was also in Jerusalem that I hosted a couchsurfer all by myself, and it was great!
