COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I look forward to meeting new people and sharing and listening to stories. Couchsurfing facilitates remarkable connections, and it is so much more than finding somewhere to crash for free. It is a chance to meet new people, to reaffirm that there are so many amazing people out there in the world, and to forge a friendship that may last far beyond the temporal confines of the visit.

Interests

Backcountry travel, cycling, rock climbing, skiing, creative writing, reading, ultimate frisbee, cooking, laughing with friends, meaningful interactions of any kind, thought provoking films, jorts.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite music these days is electronic music that falls into the dreamwave/chillwave/French house/nu disco/melodic progressive house, etc., and yes, I believe the proliferation of genre distinctions is rather ridiculous! Some examples: Teen Daze, Washed Out, Brothertiger, Chad Valley, Claes Rosen, Russ Chimes, The Outrunners, Goldroom, Classix. I also really like Fleet Foxes, Bon Iver, and Lord Huron. The most amazing film I've ever seen is Beasts of the Southern Wild. My favorite author is Steinbeck, and my favorite book is his Cannery Row. I'm reading East of Eden right now, but I made the mistake of starting the Game of Thrones books at the same time, so they have been occupying my time considerably.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Biked 5,000 miles from Maine to Seattle to San Francisco.

Teach, Learn, Share

There is always a chance to learn, and there are always people from which to learn.

Countries I’ve Visited

El Salvador, Italy

Countries I’ve Lived In

Canada, Kenya, United States
