CURRENT MISSION
Relocate to Bulgaria and hike through the Balkans.
ABOUT ME
I've been living in Nepal since August 2016, trying to build a career as a freelance writer. In my previous lives, I was a medical student in Australia and a history student in NZ.
PHILOSOPHY
"Wherever your life ends, it is all there. The advantage of living is not measured by length, but by use; some men have lived long, and lived little; attend to it while you are in it. It lies in your will, not in the number of years, for you to have lived enough." - Montaigne
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Unfortunately I can't really offer to host people in Nepal, because I'm renting from a Nepali family who aren't super keen on me having guests. So instead, I've been using it as a way to catch up with travellers and share my time in this amazing country with others.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I signed up for couchsurfing during my first trip to Europe in 2013, and stayed with fantastic hosts in Amsterdam, Utrecht, Munich and Innsbruck. One of my favourite memories from Europe is cycling through old Utrecht in the rain at night, on my way (with my couchsurfing hosts) to a bar, where I met a friend I hadn't seen since we trekked together in Nepal many years ago.
When I got back to Wellington, I had a few great experiences hosting others. Honestly, some of the best times in my life have been with people I met through CS.
