About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Getting into my new career in the Tech sector. Thoroughly enjoying the challenge and getting caught up in the Leeds tech world. Spent all my money last summer (and then some!) so currently saving a lot...

ABOUT ME

Currently starting my career as an Automation Test Engineer at a fantastic tech company in Leeds. I've just finished a year as a musician after leaving university but have come back to the tech world for the mental challenge.

If you ask me about something I'm interested in I'll talk with you for hours and we'll probably end up so far from the topic we started at we won't be able to work out how we got there!

PHILOSOPHY

Is it going to make a good story? I should probably do it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

After some fantastic hosts in the US, I'll be trying to repay the community while I'm at home.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

During the summer of 2012 I busked my way around Europe with two friends. It was the best experience of my life to date, both for the places and the people we met along the way. Some of whom we try to keep in touch with when we can!

I also did a hitchhike from Sheffield, UK to Vilnius, Lithuania for charity. Met some awesome people and saw some incredible places.

Last summer I travelled over 7000 miles in a van around the US, staying with some fantastic people along the way.

Stayed with some great people during my second hitchhike, this time from Sheffield to Bucharest.

Had a lovely time meeting a variety of people across Scandinavia last summer. Stayed in a variety of wonderful little places and got a great flavour of all the countries from my wonderful hosts.

Used to host a fair few people in Sheffield whenever I could accommodate them but it's fallen out of habit now I've moved to Leeds.

Interests

I studied astrophysics, but the time I should have been spending on that I spent playing and writing music instead. That or planning the next big trip...
I guess it paid off as I can make a living from it now!

I tried sushi in Seattle and it changed my life.

Flying solo on my last roadtrip has led me to rediscover my love of reading in crowded places.

Music, Movies, and Books

My music tastes vary on my mood massively; everything from Chopin to Zeppelin to Noisia crops up from time to time!

I have a secret love for romcoms, but a solid thriller or horror film will always beat it.

Currently reading one book on Edward Snowdon and one on negotiation. Both very interesting and the Snowdon one is so remarkable you'd be forgiven for mistaking it for fiction.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Flew a sea plane over Lake Tahoe after ending up on tour with a wonderful couple of musicians by meeting them in a bar.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'll make your lives a bit more exciting while we're together, and I'm always up for swapping stories. If you like music then I can awkwardly serenade you too, some people have told me I'm quite good!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Guests get to crash in our lounge, not much in the way of comfort but it's fairly warm and dry so you'll be fine! I'm free most days as gigs are in the evening so I can show you around or give you suggestions and let you roam free!
