About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Live, laugh, learn, love, explore, experience, share.
ABOUT ME
The most important things to me are connecting with nature, connecting with other people, and personal growth. I love traveling, meeting new people, and hearing their stories. Everyone has interesting stories to tell.
I love being outside, and while i am not a great athlete by any means, i like to be very active and participate in many sports and outdoor activities. I would usually prefer to walk or bicycle wherever i am going rather than get in a bus or car.
I like to experience the unusual and have done a few pretty out of the ordinary things in my life. I lived for several years out in the redwood forest in a yurt (with no electricity, telephone, or running water) that some friends and i built. I've taken several trips on freight trains in California and Oregon. I hitchhiked from Santa Cruz to northern Idaho and back, and also from Santa Cruz to Vancouver Island and back. I once spent a week treesitting, 200 feet up a Douglas Fir in the Cascade Mountains.
I love conversation over a few glasses of beer or wine, but I rarely drink more than a few. And I usually have lots of energy for just about anything in the daytime, but don't stay up late very often.
PHILOSOPHY
Respect other people and nature, and try to experience all that the world has to offer.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
When I travel i normally like to sleep outdoors as much as i can, but i have been lucky enough to be able to sleep on several people's couches or floors over the years. I try to be a considerate and low-maintnenance guest, but am always happy to hang out with my hosts if they have time for that.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Riding a freight train with 3 friends from Eugene, Oregon to Sacramento, California was an unforgettable experience. The thrill of being on the rails, incredible scenery of the Northwest, camping and swimming on the American River, and the camaraderie of some wonderful people made it one of the greatest trips of my life.
