ABOUT ME

I'm just trying to do, see, and experience as much as possible before I become a tired old man. I try to make the conscious decision to be remain positive in all situations, but not overly perky and annoying. :P I love being outside, but don't get the opportunity to hike or boat as I'd like.

When I grow old I will travel the world on a boat and call no land my home.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe in intentional living. I try to live every moment and realize every decision I make is a choice. It's incredibly powerful and an optimistic way to live. I'm just trying to experience as much as I can. I've had the fortune of meeting a lot of awesome people that have changed my life for the better. I hope along the way, I can affect people in a similar way.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Right now, I'm just hosting. Spent a couple years traveling through Asia and spent some time in France. Now I am currently in school, so I will be hosting for the most part.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

After graduating undergrad I moved to China, but as I was in a kinda remote, unvisited area, didn't get a lot of surfers. I'm hoping that I can meet a bunch of new people and that LA will be more conducive to hosting.

I'm looking for the corners of the world. I plan on filling in this box gradually, with amazing stories from all over the world, one step at a time.

Interests

I really try to find something interesting in anything. That includes discovering different cultures, art, good food, regional breweries, Americanized-Chinese food, Chinese Chinese-food, books, and probably YOU!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love books and movies. I believe that we make sense and meaning out of our lives only through our personal understanding of stories. I like films by the Coen brothers, PT Anderson, Gus Van Sant, Atom Egoyan, and so many more. Books: The Great Gatesby, Brave New World, Revolutionary Road, and X-Men. Art is my passion in all its forms, and I'm always keen for a good convo about interesting subjects, usually over a beer or glass of wine.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know how to edit video and audio footage. If you have some travel videos, I could definitely help you assemble it together. I'm always willing to learn a few new words in a new language or any random skill, although my language acquisition skills are a bit bad to be honest.
