About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Living one dream, dreaming of next ones

ABOUT ME

Starting from November 2011 this is not "my" profile anymore, it's ours. Before it was profile of only Matt.

We are Israeli(Dan,28)-Polish(Matt,23) gay couple living together in Warsaw.

Matt: I'm just a really outgoing and open-minded guy, who cannot imagine living without different people around him. During my almost entire studies I've been a member of Erasmus Student Network what made my life really adventurous. It also showed me how much I appreciate presence of different cultures in my life.

It's been a while since I got back from my exchange adventure in Turkey where I actually learnt the beauty of Couchsurfing. I'm still trying to surround myself with international students and foreigners.
And living my life, trying to make plans, but it's hard. Just living day after day and waiting for what tomorrow will bring.

Dan: I moved to Warsaw after living in Tel Aviv for three years, in search for new adventures and new people - and what better way is there to do that than hosting people from all around the world in our living room? :)

Always on a search for knowledge and new points of view, I traveled in Europe, Central America and the states, I like walking in the city, finding new street art hidden in small allies, looking at the crowd and capturing the smallest details of culture.
I’m inspired by arts, cinema, listening to experimental music, The daily featured in Wikipedia, cooking food I thought I can’t make and finding weird but educating YouTube videos like this one: http://youtu.be/98XRKr19jIE.

PHILOSOPHY

I've never been a philosopher type of a guy. There are some, sometimes cliche, phrases I try to follow in my life. Like to regret doing something than not doing it at all. Or believing that only sky is the limit.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

A friend told me (Matt) about it saying that it's a really great experience... He was damn right! And now I'm trying to show the beauty of it to Dan.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Matt: I started surfing when doing my exchange in Turkey. Those were great moments that are now amazing memories. Once I got back to Warsaw I started hosting people. But even before I used to host my exchange friends whenever they were coming back to Warsaw.
When i think about travelling anywhere, I also think about couchsurfing since it is the best way to get to know the place I'm going to and its people.

Music, film, books but the most important is broadening my mind by meeting people from all over the world.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music is omnipresent in my life, even though I don't play any instrument. But I listen to it every possible moment. I don't have favourite genre - all depends on my mood, time of the day, weather... everything. It can be anything from classic to rap, folk to heavy rock. Favourite artists include The Kooks, Moby, Avishai Cohen, Esbjorn Svenson Trio, Lady Gaga, Beirut and many many more.
I love to read fantasy and thrillers - Pratchett, King, Sapkowski, Harris, Cook
I don't watch movies so often but if so I'm really into dramas, thrillers. In general I enjoy movies that can leave me speechless (what is pretty hard to do) or give me food for thought. I don't follow recent blockbusters, would rather go for non-Hollywood production.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Amazing for me was being invited for a dinner in a mosque in Halep, Syria on my first day in the Middle East. And couchsurfing with Syrian soldiers in Damascus, Syria. And sleeping on the street in Beirut.

And I still have a lot of life to live.

Teach, Learn, Share

I want to get people's points of view, how they see things. Spending hours on discussing different issues might be a part of your stay at my place. I can share my stories, music and teach cooking my favourite things :)
