HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We see CouchSurfing as a way of sharing experiences, learning about other cultures, music, food, ideas, etc. We are only interested in having people around who think of CouchSurfing the same way.

We are aware that some people use CS as a way of finding free accommodation. This is okay, but it's not how we do it. Please look for someone else if free accommodation is your main goal.

We like to see that people who contact us have read our profile, and chose us specifically because they were interested in meeting us. Please avoid sending us generic "copy-and-paste" requests, as we are likely to decline such messages straight away. We hope you understand this.

You are welcome to send short-notice requests, but do bear in mind that we need to check our schedules and prepare for you, so the more advance notice you give us, the better your chances are. Thanks!

Interessen

We enjoy playing indie board games (got a collection of those), playing and listening to Brazilian music, creating impromptu performances on our boat, occasionally getting stoned and talking philosophy, shamelessly flirting with guys we both fancy, debating whether anything spiritual makes any sense at all, singing in harmony, watching (usually weird and/or miserable) TV series, and more.

Musik, Filme und Bücher

We both play in a pro samba band, so a fair bit of samba, but also many others. Matt's lately been listening to Fatoumada Diawara, Nils Frahm, Avishai Cohen and Eska. Pedro likes more goth and 80's kind of stuff.

Movies-wise, we like Wes Anderson and Lars von Trier. Recent movies we've enjoyed are Frank, Red Turtle and God's Own Country. Books-wise, the three Yuval Harari books, gay coming-of-age fiction, an odd classic on a good day, and all kinds of assorted stuff, like The Book of Sin by Jerry Hyde or Ways of Seeing by John Berger.
