Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To become a better person through learning from good people
ABOUT ME
I am excited to meet new people of all cultures and background, rather they be similar or different from my own. Even though I try to travel as much as I can afford to, I feel that it is the people rather than the places I go that gives me the profound experiences I seek. Places are simply framework in which stories are built, and people are the driving forces behind them. Creative people are unpredictable and I am fascinated by adventurous people and their different perspective on things.
I am pretty laid back and down to earth, and really open to new things.
PHILOSOPHY
I am a big believer of the concept of Ubuntu, which I think fits very well with CouchSurfing. Below is the concept as explained by Archbishop Desmond Tutu:
"One of the sayings in our country is Ubuntu - the essence of being human. Ubuntu speaks particularly about the fact that you can't exist as a human being in isolation. It speaks about our interconnectedness. You can't be human all by yourself, and when you have this quality - Ubuntu - you are known for your generosity.
We think of ourselves far too frequently as just individuals, separated from one another, whereas you are connected and what you do affects the whole world. When you do well, it spreads out; it is for the whole of humanity."
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I would love to meet/help new friendly people, share my experiences, and also learn from these people I meet.
Interests
Professionally I am a software engineer, with focus on virtual worlds. I can talk endlessly about how my vision of how tech will change the world of the future. I also am certified in project management and love exploring ways to better manage software projects.
Personally I enjoy mixing drinks (i have a certificate in mixology/bartending), interior design, jogging, and salsa dancing.
I believe that you get a much deeper experience traveling when you can speak/understand the local language. Currently I am studying Japanese in preparing for my trip to Japan.
I also like to watch movies and talk about good movies.
