About Me

Born in Durban, studied and now working in Cape Town.
I am super easy going, and love being outdoors - hiking, trail running, being on the beach, or just walking around the neighbourhood. I recently got into marathon running, and am wanting to keep this going!
When travelling, I love being adventurous, meeting locals, trying local foods and drinks, and being pushed outside my comfort zone.
My flaws include a weakness for beer, and good humour.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The best experiences whilst travelling shouldn't always have to be paid for - spending time with locals and making friends across the world is priceless.
I want to allow and assist people in enjoying the beautiful city I am fortunate to call home; it's always refreshing to see your home from the perspective of a foreigner.

I hope to meet like minded people when I travel to locations others call home.

Music, Movies, and Books

Always open to new favourites!
Music wise, anything with a good beat and catchy hook: from Norma Jean, BMTH, Foals, The 1975, Biffy Clyro, Kings of Leon, Young the Giant, Kygo, to Journey, Bob Marley, UB40, ACDC, Bon Jovi etc.
I sadly have more unread books on my shelf than read - though Mosquito Coast by Paul Theroux is a good one. (Willing to trade!)
The Rum Diary and A Good Year are movies I've watched so many times that I've lost count - witty dialogue is paramount for a great film!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- Learnt to drive a scooter in Denpaser, Bali (many near-death experiences!)
- Spent a night camping in the Okavango Delta, Botswana (no fences, just animals!)
- Swam with turtles at Gili Meno, Lombok
- 2am hike to catch the sunrise from atop of Mt Batur, Bali,
- Whitewater rafted on the Zambezi River, Zambia.
- Climbed Dune45 in Sesriem, Namibia,
