About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Taking that long overdue 'study abroad' as a 28-year-old and picking up some putonghua while I'm at it
ABOUT ME
Hi everyone - I'm currently enjoying a long overdue 'study abroad'. After going through undergrad and grad school never studying abroad, I recently moved to Beijing (June 2013) to improve my mandarin and use it as a base to travel around this part of the world. I grew up in Colorado (USA) originally, which explains my love of hiking and love of Tex-Mex food.

Interests
LIke 99.5% of people on this website, I enjoy traveling (the other 0.5% of people are probably just identity thieves trolling for personal data!). In a previous life, I worked in the renewable energy industry. So in addition to the standard joys of traveling of discovering new cultures, and new food, I find it interesting to see how different cities and countries have adapted to the energy needs of its population. Any guesses which country uses more electricity per capita than any other in the world?
