About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To take an awkward picture of myself at arm's length in every country in the world.

ABOUT ME

I'm outgoing, creative, and I'm always up for adventure.

I'm a performing Improv Comedian and Actor.

I like the chaos and movement of cities as much as I like being in the middle of nowhere, and I'll travel somewhere new at the slightest suggestion. I adore road trips.

I like sneaking into abandoned buildings.

I play tons and tons of boardgames... some that take a ludicrous amount of time.

I'm very interested in inventive and creative projects to revitalize cities.

I have a beard. I think it's a pretty good beard.

I'm very into bicycling. I bike everywhere and my car just sits there looking sad. Poor car.

PHILOSOPHY

The 3 major tenets of my philosophy:

"Party on & be excellent to each other"
-B.S. Preston, Esq & T.T. Logan

"Never whistle while you're pissing"
-H. Celine

"The Dude abides"
-T. Dude

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've stayed or hung out with CSers all over the world, hosted many amazing people, and met some of my best friends through this site.

Interests

Filmmaking (my degree, my love, and source of my most pitiful life credentials... I helped make Bride Wars!), Photography (the more strobes the better), Performing Improv & Sketch (yes&?), Making Music (Beep & Boops as well as Ukes & Guitars), Making Stuff (I'm a hacker!), Baking Stuff (I'm a baker!), Biking everywhere, really complicated Board Games, fun party board games, obsessing over movies, playing old video games, travelling to unexpected places, seeking out and destroying a good pint of beer, eating new kinds of cheese, messing with technology until it works better or it's broken, and finding out about secret parties (especially speakeasies!).

Music, Movies, and Books

AN OLD LIST OF STUFF I LIKED AT SOME POINT AND PROBABLY STILL DO---

Music:
Dead Milkmen, David Wax Museum, Local H, Pink Floyd, Negativland, The KLF, Chumbawamba, Criteria, Cursive, Bomb the Music Industry, Choking Victim, Iron Maiden, Self, Bad Religion, They Might Be Giants, Modest Mouse, Sparklehorse, 65DaysOfStatic, God is an Astronaut.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Doing video interviews in the shanty towns of South Africa and building a Computer Lab in similar conditions in Ecuador were both extremely humbling experiences. They have drastically changed how I see my life, and the opportunities available to me.

In contrast, I saw a man bet $15,000 at a craps game in Las Vegas, and lose it in about 10 seconds without a reaction. My soul hurt a little.

Teach, Learn, Share

I make movies and shoot photos, with a pretty wide knowledge of both. I'm a computer geek, so anything to do with software, hardware, or gadgets...

I'm very into bicycling and I'm pretty good with bike maintenance, so I'm happy to take a look at your bike if it's got anything up with it.

I brew beer and have a mad scientist's lab for kitchen.
