About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Visit every continent. Three left.

ABOUT ME

Originally from San Francisco, now living in Montréal! Je parle français... Comme ci comme ça haha

But even though I'm here in Québec, I still brought all the clichés with me: I'm a musician who plays around town, I freelance as a software engineer, I'm a vegetarian and appreciate local, organic food, I like climbing and all good manner of outdoor excursions, and I'm a pirate in my free time.

If you like random facts, ridiculous accents, great stories, good (non-animal, sorry!) food, endless laughs, and good music, then I think we'll get along just fine.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I host and surf all across the world relatively equally.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Travelled around Europe though CouchSurfing and friends. Met some amazing people and hope to continue the tradition.

Interests

Other than the interests above, my favorite activity is learning esoteric knowledge. That and playing music. I'll play you some songs on my guitar for a night on your couch :).

Music, Movies, and Books

Music by temperature / latitude (it's a thing):
50°N and higher:
Glen Hansard, Damien Rice, The Album Leaf (yeah he's from San Diego but it was all recorded in Iceland, so it counts), Dustin O'Halloran (when he's in Berlin)

40°N - 50°N:
All your hipster classics: Arcade Fire, Blind Pilot, Neko Case, Father John Misty...

South of 40°N:
Despacito, obviously. What, you're too cool for Despacito? Despacito is beneath you? Yes, you've heard it 500 times. Yes, you're sick of it. Yes, the lyrics say something about something about whatever. But when Luís comes on the radio, don't tell me you can't help but sing along.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Rode a camel into the sunset in the Sahara Desert. Seriously.

Teach, Learn, Share

Want to learn how to sail a boat? How about building a website? Or writing your name in Arabic? Maybe learning to play a song on the piano? Or what color the Golden Gate Bridge is painted? (Without looking at Wikipedia.) Or why it is impossible to drive between Central and South America?

Or why I remember so many random things?
