I'm originally from Vienna (Austria) and now living in Berlin (Germany) for my work. Humor is very important to me, but I'm always open for some serious conversations. Meeting new people and their culture is one of the reasons I'm on couch surfing. I travel a lot and I had the best experiences from staying with locals. You always get a better perspective for the place you're visiting when you have someone showing you around or telling you were to go and also you get to know the people who live there. As a usual tourist it's not that easy to get in touch with locals. Also I'm not the person who wants to do all the touristy stuff- I think it's more fun to check out all the hidden places a city can offer and only insiders can show you.
But the best thing is: You meet so many great people who often become new friends!!!
